KESIHATAN MENTAL GOLONGAN REMAJA MENURUT MAQASID SYARIAH Adolescent Mental Health According to Maqasid Shariah

Abstract
A research from National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2019 found that as many as 424,000 children faces mental health problem in 2019. However, the society especially the youths’ awareness towards mental health is still considerably low. Even parents are sometimes less sensitive to these attitude changes happening to their children. Thus, worsen the situation. As youth are the pioneers of the country’s progress, the situation must be confronted immediately to develop generations that are mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy. This qualitative research used content analysis approach, while data collection was conducted through content analysis from journals, newspaper, books, and written reports. This paper highlights the types of mental illnesses often experienced by adolescents, as well as the symptoms associated with them. Next, this paper looks at the aspects of mental health from the hifz al-aql point of view in maqasid al-syariah including the position of mental health problems in Islamic Syariah. This study found that mental health problems can be categorised as ‘awarid samawiyyah to ahliyyah (qualification) mukallaf.
